Vehicle Recall: Ford F-150 Pickup Trucks

Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 20,664 model year 2021-2023 Ford F-150 Pickup Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On the affected Ford F-150 vehicles, the vehicle’s Rear Axle Hub Bolt(s) could break and cause the Axle Shaft(s) Splines to wear. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the Wheels. Additionally, if the Pickup Trucks is parked and the Parking Brake isn’t applied, the Trucks could roll away.

Please note: at this time, this recall affects only Ford F-150 vehicles equipped with the company’s Trailer Tow Max Duty Option Package.

If this defect occurs, an in-use loss of power to the Wheels could increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

In addition, a parked vehicle that rolls away due to this reported defect could also create the risk of an injury or a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

==> No VINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Proposed Remedy:
Ford Canada will notify affected Ford F-150 owners by mail about this recall. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
