Food Recall: Alumauy Sweet Pepper Ground Spice

Canada/Ottawa: SAFA 71 Inc., an Ottawa, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Alumauy Sweet Pepper Ground Spice from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of undeclared Gluten, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious health and safety hazard requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Ground Spices products are subject to this recall:

• Alumauy Sweet Pepper Ground Spices, sold in one (1) kilogram packages with a production date code of Ü.T. 19.08.2022, an expiry date code of S.K.T. 19.08.2024 and a UPC of 8 682325 700579

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Alumauy Sweet Pepper Ground Spice products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, SAFA 71 Inc.. has recalled certain batch/lots of Alumauy Sweet Pepper Ground Spice products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of undeclared Gluten. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the Ground Spice recalled products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Alumauy Sweet Pepper Ground Spice products and could be allergic to their Gluten ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
