Food Recall: Prime Hydration Drinks

Canada/Ottawa: Candy Heaven, a Calgary, Alberta establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Prime branded Hydration Drinks from the Canadian marketplace due to reported over-fortification of Vitamins and incorrect labeling with consequential risks of severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Energy Drinks are subject to this recall:

• Prime Hydration Drinks, sold in 500 ml plastic bottles; affected batch/lots: all flavors that do not have bilingual (English and French) labeling

Please consult the photograph above for details of the beverage’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Energy Drinks were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of Alberta, although it is always possible these beverage products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Candy Heaven has recalled all current batch/lots of Prime branded Hydration Drinks from the Canadian marketplace due to reported over-fortification of Vitamins and incorrect labeling. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Energy Drinks identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Prime branded Hydration Drinks, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat poisonings.
