Recall Category: Power Train – Rear Axle Hub Bolt may break

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V896000 reports the Rear Axle Hub Bolt may fatigue and break. If this defect occurs, it can result in damage to the Axle Hub Splines.

According to the NHTSA, damaged Axle Hub Splines can result in a vehicle roll-away when the vehicle is in PARK when the Parking Brake is not applied, or cause a loss of drive power. Both of these conditions can increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.
