US/Silver Spring: Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., a Gates, New York establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Outrageous Oat Cookies from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of undeclared Wheat, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to this recall:

• Wegmans Outrageous Oat Cookies, five (5) pack; affected batch/lots: all current use-by dates with a UPC: of 7789056618
• Wegmans Outrageous Oat Cookies, sold by the pound, affected batch/lots: all current use-by dates with a UPC: of 2-08165-00000-6

==> No tem numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Wegmans Outrageous Oat Cookies were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, DC, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., a Buffalo, New York establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Outrageous Oat Cookies from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of undeclared Wheat, . As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled PRODUCTS identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that a Wheat-containing ingredient was inadvertently used in the Outrageous Oat Cookies.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Wegmans Outrageous Oat Cookies and could be allergic to their Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
