Vehicle Recall: Ford F-150 Lightning EV Pickup Trucks

Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 1,408 model year 2022-2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Pickup Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On the affected Ford F-150 vehicles, a software problem could cause the Electronic Stability Control (“ESC”) system not to return back to the default setting when the vehicle is started.

Canadian regulations require the Stability Control System to start in the default setting each time that the driver starts the vehicle.

If this defect occurs, a driver who isn’t aware the Stability Control System is in a different setting could have an increased risk of crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> No VINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Proposed Remedy:
Ford Canada will notify affected Ford F-150 owners by mail and send a wireless Over-the-Air Software (“OTA”) update for the SYNC module to each vehicle. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the software update performed at a Ford dealership.
