Food Recall: Amazon & Whole Foods ToYou Snack Bars

US/Silver Spring: ToYou Snacks, a Winter Garden, Florida establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of ToYou branded Coconut Mocha, Chocolate Mango, Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate, Mint Dark Chocolate, Banana Foster and Mango Yogurt Snack Bars flavors from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Soy, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Energy Snack Bars sold at Amazon and Whole Foods Markets are subject to this recall:

Sold from Amazon.com:

• ToYou branded Snack Bars – Mint Dark Chocolate flavor sold in 40 gram (1.4 ounce) bars in 14-count boxes with a delivered on date of 11/09/2023, a batch/lot of MDCFBA-01 and an expiry date of 08/30/2024
• ToYou branded Snack Bars – Mango Yogurt flavor sold in 40 gram (1.4 ounce) bars in 14-count boxes with a delivered on date of 11/09/2023, a batch/lot of MY 05 and an expiry date of 08/30/2024
• ToYou branded Snack Bars – Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate flavor sold in 40 gram (1.4 ounce) bars in 14-count boxes with a delivered on date of 11/09/2023, a batch/lot of SCFBA 02 and an expiry date of 08/30/2024
• ToYou branded Snack Bars – Chocolate Mango flavor sold in 40 gram (1.4 ounce) bars in 14-count boxes with a delivered on date of 11/09/2023 , a batch/lot of CHMGFBA 02 and an expiry date of 08/30/2024
• ToYou branded Snack Bars – Banana Foster flavor sold in 40 gram (1.4 ounce) bars in 14-count boxes with a delivered on date of 11/09/2023, a batch/lot of BFFBA 02 and an expiry date of 08/30/2024
• ToYou branded Snack Bars – Coconut Mocha flavor sold in 40 gram (1.4 ounce) bars in 14-count boxes with a delivered on date of 11/09/2023, a batch/lot of COCOMFBA 02 and an expiry date of 08/30/2024

Sold from Whole Food Market:

• ToYou branded Snack Bars – Banana Foster flavor sold in 40 gram (1.4 ounce) bars in 14-count boxes with a delivered on date between 09/06/2023 and 10/24/2023, a batch/lot of BF 13 / BFKHE 01 and an expiry date within the range of 06/30/2024 to 08/30/2024
• ToYou branded Snack Bars – Chocolate Mango flavor sold in 40 gram (1.4 ounce) bars in 14-count boxes with a delivered on date between 09/06/2023 and 10/24/2023, a batch/lot of CHMG01 / CMKHE 01 and an expiry date within the range of 06/30/2024 to 08/30/2024

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These ToYou branded Snack Bars were known to be marketed, distributed and sold from Whole Food Stores in the US states of Florida and nationally from Amazon.com, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, ToYou Snacks recalls certain batch/lots of ToYou branded Coconut Mocha, Chocolate Mango, Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate, Mint Dark Chocolate, Banana Foster and Mango Yogurt Snack Bars flavors from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Soy. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Energy Snack Bars identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after Florida Department of Agriculture discovered that the wrappers used in the recalled batch/lots of Energy Snack Bars were missing the Soy allergen declaration.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled ToYou branded Snack Bars and could be allergic to their Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
