UK/London: Country Kitchen, a Lisburn, Down, Northern Ireland establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Double Chocolate Chip Muffins from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to recall:

• Country Kitchen Double Chocolate Chip Muffins, sold in clear plastic clamshells with a best-before date of 26 December 2023 or 2 January 2024

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the UK FSA, Country Kitchen has recalled certain batch/lots of Double Chocolate Chip Muffins from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Baked Goods identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Country Kitchen Double Chocolate Chip Muffins and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
