Canada/Ottawa: Centennial General Partner Inc., a Richmond, British Columbia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Bulk Foodservice Beef and Pork Meat products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected metal fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards. requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Bulk Meat products are subject to this recall:

  • Centennial Food Service Pork Loin with Cranberry Stuffing 18% Meat Protein, sold in 8.21 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 50989 with a production date code of 2023 NO 06 or 2023 NO 07
  • Centennial Food Service Lean Ground Beef Local, sold in 5 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 52020 with a production date code of 2023 NO 14 or 2023 NO 15
  • Centennial Food Service Lean Ground Beef Comm, sold in 5 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 52061 with a production date code of 2023 NO 15 or 2023 NO 16
  • Centennial Food Service Medium Ground Beef Contract, sold in 25 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 52034 with a production date code of 2023 NO 07, 2023 NO 09 or 2023 NO 10
  • Centennial Food Service Medium Ground Beef Contract, sold in 5 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 52046 with a production date code of 2023 NO 06
  • Centennial Food Service Lean Ground Beef Commercial, sold in 5 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 52060 with a production date code of 2023 NO 07, 2023 NO 14, 2023 NO 15, 2023 NO 16 or 2023 NO 17
  • Centennial Food Service Lean Ground Beef Chuck, sold in 5 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 52228 with a production date code of 2023 NO 07, 2023 NO 14 or 2023 NO 15
  • Centennial Food Service Lean Ground Beef Contract, sold in 25 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 522620 with a production date code of 2023 NO 07, 2023 NO 09, 2023 NO 16 or 2023 NO 17
  • Centennial Food Service Ground Pork, sold in 25 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 54449 with a production date code of 2023 NO 07, 2023 NO 08, 2023 NO 14 or 2023 NO 15
  • Centennial Food Service Ground Pork, sold in 5 kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 54655 with a production date code of 2023 NO 15

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Centennial General Partner Bulk Foodservice Beef and Pork products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency ("CFIA")According to the CFIA, Centennial General Partner Inc. has recalled certain batch/lots of Bulk Foodservice Beef and Pork products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected metal fragment contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Meat products identified above.

In general, if glass, plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Bulk Foodservice Beef and Pork Meat products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the distributor where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis.
