Among the twenty-four (24) recalls the NHTSA has announced this December comes news of the following:

Logo - Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. ("MBUSA")Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (“MBUSA”), a Sandy Springs, Georgia establishment and subsidiary of Daimler AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 2,797 model year 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450e Plug-in Hybrid (“PHEV”) Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category:Electronic Stability Control, Service Brakes, Hydraulic – Braking may require increased force

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V807000 reports due to a Software error in the Electronic Stability Program (“ESP”), the force required to stop the vehicle may increase, possibly requiring an extended distance to stop.

According to the NHTSA, extended stopping distance can increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealers will update the ESP Control Unit Software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 30, 2024.

Owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-367-6372 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information. No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
