Among the twenty-two (22) recalls the NHTSA has announced this December comes news of the following:

Logo - Chrysler (FCA US LLC)Chrysler (FCA US LLC), an Auburn Hills, Michigan establishment and a subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV of Amsterdam, Netherlands has recalled an estimated 142,150 model year 2023 Ram 1500 Classic Pickup Trucks, Ram 3500 Classic Pickup Trucks, 3500 Cab Chassis Pickup Trucks, 2023-2024 Ram 2500 Pickup Trucks, 4500/5500 Cab Chassis Trucks, and Ram 3500 Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Steering, Exterior Lighting – Turn Signal and High Beam malfunction in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 108

Logo - RAMNHTSA Safety Notification 23V799000 reports the Steering Column Control Module may cause the High Beams to activate when the Turn Signal is used or activate the Turn Signal when the High Beams are used. In addition, the Turn Signal self-canceling feature may not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment”.

According to the NHTSA, Turn Signals and/or High Beams that do not function as intended may cause confusion or reduced visibility to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Chrysler Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the Steering Column Control Module, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 17, 2024.
