Among the sixty-five (65) recalls the NHTSA announced in November comes news of the following:

Logo - American Honda Motor Co. ("Honda")American Honda Motor Co. (“Honda”), a Torrance, California establishment and a subsidiary of Honda Motor Company of Tokyo, Japan, has recalled an estimated 303,770 model year 2023-2024 Honda Accord Sedans and Honda HR-V Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Seat Belts – Unsecured Seat Belt Pretensioners in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 208, 209 and 210

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V782000 reports the Front Seat Belt Pretensioners may be missing the Rivet that secures the Quick Connector and Wire Plate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, “Occupant Crash Protection,” 209, “Seat Belt Assembles” and 210, “Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages”.

According to the NHTSA, a Seat Belt Pretensioner missing a Rivet will not properly restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.
