Vehicle Recall: Ford Bronco & Explorer SUVs; F-150 Pickups

Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls certain model year 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”), Ford Explorer SUVs and Ford F-150 Pickup-up Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On the affected Ford vehicles equipped with an Automatic Transmission, there could be a loose Bolt inside the Transmission. As a consequence, the Bolt could move and block the Parking Pawl.

If this defect occurs, the Parking Pawl may not engage when the driver shifts the vehicle into PARK. As a consequence, the vehicle could roll away if the Parking Brake isn’t used and increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event, increasing the risks of consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage, internal injuries burns, scalds, explosive blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury.

==> No VINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Proposed Remedy:
Ford Canada will notify affected vehicle owners by mail to advise you to take your Ford Bronco, Explorer or F-150 vehicle to an Authorized Dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the Transmission.

The manufacturer’s designation listed for this recall is 2023057.
