Among the fifty-seven (57) recalls the NHTSA announced in November comes news of the following:

Logo - Gillig LLC ("Gillig")Gillig LLC (“Gillig”), a Livermore, California establishment and a subsidiary of Henry Crown & Company of Wheeling, Illinois, has recalled an estimated 4,286 model year 2019-2023 Low Floor Transit Buses marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Power Train – Transmission may separate from Driveshaft

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V740000 reports the Transmission Yoke may separate. If this defect occurs, it could result in Driveshaft separation and a sudden loss of drive power.

According to the NHTSA, a sudden loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event. Additionally, a disabled Bus may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.
