Among the forty-five (45) recalls the NHTSA announced in November comes news of the following:

Winnebago Towable, Inc. (“Winnebago”), an Eden Prairie, Minnesota establishment, has recalled an estimated 856 model year 2017-2018 Winnebago Micro Minnie Travel Trailers marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Structure – Murphy Bed may close unintentionally

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V745000 reports the vehicle’s Murphy Bed may raise unintentionally if there is weight at the head of the Bed and the Bed’s Button Strap is not properly latched.

According to the NHTSA, a Bed that closes unintentionally may trap an occupant inside, increasing the risk of serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Winnebago Dealers will install a new Automatic Latching Mechanism, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 5, 2024.
