Additional information:
Among the forty-one (41) recalls the NHTSA announced in November comes news of the following:

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (“MBUSA”), a Sandy Springs, Georgia establishment and subsidiary of Daimler AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 42,742 model year 2019-2020 Mercedes-Benz A220, 2020 CLA250, GLB250, AMG A35, AMG CLA45, AMG CLA35, and 2021 GLA250 Sedans and Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Equipment – Missing Brake Inspection Gauge in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 135

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V732000 reports the Mercedes-Benz Sedans and Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) may not be equipped with an Inspection Gauge to check the wear of the Rear Brake Pads. In addition, information for using this Inspection Gauge might not be included in the Owner’s Manual. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, “Light Vehicle Brake Systems.”

According to the NHTSA, driving with worn Brake Pads can reduce braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.
