Food Recall: Cocco Candy Rolling Candy Confectionery

UK/London: Cocco Candy, a Turkey establishment, and KGR Distribution Corp., a Passaic, New Jersey establishment, recall certain batch/lots of Cocco Candy branded Rolling Candy Confectionery products from the British marketplace due to suspected component detachment and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and/or sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death. One (1) death is known to have occurred in the United States from a similar confectionery design.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Confectionery products are subject to recall:

• Cocco Candy Strawberry Flavoured Rolling Candy, sold in 30 ml roller canisters
• Cocco Candy Tutti Frutti Flavoured Rolling Candy, sold in 30 ml roller canisters
• Cocco Candy Cola Flavoured Rolling Candy, sold in 30 ml roller canisters

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Cocco Candy and KGR Distribution Corp. recall certain batch/lots of Cocco Candy branded Rolling Candy Confectionery products from the British marketplace due to suspected component detachment and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and/or sepsis.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cocco Candy Flavoured Rolling Candy products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Confectionery to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and/or sepsis.
