US/Silver Spring: Braga Fresh, a Soledad, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Wegmans Organic Sweet Kale Chopped Salad Kits from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Salad Kits are subject to this recall:

• Wegmans Organic branded Sweet Kale Chopped Salad Kits, sold in eight (8)-ounce clear cello bags from in-store refrigerated display cases in the produce department with a best-if-used-by-date code of OCT 27, 2023, a batch/lot code of BFFS282B4 and a UPC of 0 77890 55911 6

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Salad Kits can be found on the Web site above.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Wegmans Organic branded Sweet Kale Chopped Salad Kits were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states and districts of DE, MA, MD, NC, NJ, NY, PA, VA as well as Washington, DC, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Braga Fresh has recalled certain batch/lots of Wegmans Organic branded Sweet Kale Chopped Salad Kits from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Salad Kits identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Wegmans Organic branded Sweet Kale Chopped Salad Kits and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
