US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Cookies-N-Milk, a McKinney, Texas establishment, expands its existing recall for certain batch/lots of Cookies-N-Milk Chocolate Chip Edible Cookie Dough from the American marketplace to include additional batch/lot information.

The earlier recall was initiated due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

 Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Cookie Dough products are subject to this recall:

  • Cookies-N-Milk Chocolate Chip Edible Cookie Dough, sold in six (6)-ounce clear plastic cups. Recalled batch/lots can be identified by a code that begins with “3240” and is followed by a four-digit military timestamp followed by the letter “C”. As an example: 3240 2300C.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Cookie Dough products were marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of IA, KS, MN, MO, ND, NE, SD, WI and WY, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cookie Dough products identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that packages marked Chocolate Chip Edible Cookie Dough products may actually contain Peanut Butter Edible Cookie Dough, another of the company’s products, one that contains Peanuts.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Cookies-N-Milk Chocolate Chip Edible Cookie Dough products and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
