Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Oceana International Pty Ltd., a Wetherill Park, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Party Planet branded Temporary Colour Hair Spray from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s mandatory standard for Cosmetic Ingredient Labelling, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Hair Spray products are subject to this recall:

  • Party Planet branded Temporary Colour Hair Spray, sold with a batch/lot designation of W010530 and the following colours: Silver, Gold, Blue, Pink, Red, Green or Yellow

==> No barcodes, APNs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Hair Spray products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these cosmetic products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, Oceana International Pty Ltd. recalls certain batch/lots of Party Planet branded Temporary Colour Hair Spray from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s mandatory standard for Cosmetic Ingredient Labelling. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither use the recalled Hair Spray products identified above. As a result of these reported defects and associated risks, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled cosmetic products identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that the Hair Spray products were sold without the ingredient information that is required for cosmetic products within Australia. If this defect occurs, there is a risk of allergic reaction if consumers are exposed to ingredients to which they are sensitive and/or allergic. As the result of the missing information, users of these products will not be able to check the ingredients list to identify the possible cause and seek appropriate and timely medical treatment in the event of Anaphylaxis.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm product poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any product, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Party Planet Temporary Colour Hair Spray products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it or contact Oceana International for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
