US/Silver Spring: Orgain LLC of Irvine, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Organic Protein Powder + Superfoods Dietary Supplements from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Sesame, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Dietary Supplements are subject to this recall:

• Costco Orgain Organic Protein Powder + Superfoods Supplements, sold in 43.8 ounce (2.64-pound) white plastic canisters with a batch/lot of 3212 EL 14 with a expiry date of 7/31/2025; a batch/lot of 3213 EL 14 with a expiry date of 8/1/2025; a batch/lot of 3214 EL 14 with a expiry date of 8/2/2025; and a batch/lot of 3228 EL 14 with a expiry date of 8/16/2025

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Dietary Supplements were known to be marketed, distributed and sold between September 8 to September 28, 2023 from Costco warehouse locations in the US states of Alabama, Alaska, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin, as well as Washington, DC, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Orgain LLC has recalled certain batch/lots of Organic Protein Powder + Superfoods Dietary Supplements from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Sesame. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dietary Supplements identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the product’s co-manufacturer reported to Orgain that the nic Protein Powder + Superfoods Dietary Supplements was distributed with an undeclared Sesame allergen an

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Orgain Organic Protein Powder + Superfoods Supplements and could be allergic to their Sesame ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
