Among the fifty-five (55) recalls the NHTSA announced in September came news of the following:

Logo - Subaru of America, Inc. ("Subaru")Subaru of America, Inc. (“Subaru”), a Camden, New Jersey establishment and a subsidiary of Subaru Corporation of Japan, has recalled 4,311 model year 2023 Subaru Outback & Ascent SUVs and Legacy and Impreza Sedan, Ascent SUVs, Legacy and Impreza Sedans marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Power Train – Driveshaft may disconnect

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V647000 reports that the Center Support Bolts for the Driveshaft may loosen. If this defect occurs, it poses risks of disconnection of the Front End of the Driveshaft.

According to the NHTSA, separation of the front end of the Driveshaft increases the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Subaru Dealers will clean the Bolt Mounting Surfaces of the Center Support Brace and install new Bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 20, 2023.
