Among the fifty-four (54) recalls the NHTSA announced in September comes news of the following:
BMW of North America, LLC (“BMW”), a Greer, South Carolina establishment and a subsidiary of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG of Munich, Germany, has recalled an estimated 2021-2023 Rolls-Royce Ghost Sedans marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.
Recall Category: Electrical System – Instrument Cluster Glass may break in a crash
NHTSA Safety Notification 23V645000 reports the Single-Layer Tempered Glass protecting the Instrument Cluster may break in a crash.
According to the NHTSA, broken glass can increase the risk of injury in a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.
==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, scalds, explosive blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury.
Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Rolls Royce Dealers will apply a Protective Coating on the Instrument Cluster’s Single-Layer Tempered Glass, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 13, 2023.
Owners may contact Rolls Royce Customer Service toll-free at 1-877-877-3735 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information.
