Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Splosh Australia, a Brisbane, Australia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Father’s Day Giant Novelty Mugs from the Australian marketplace due to suspected in-use structural failure and consequential risks of burns, scalds, laceration, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and/or sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Crockery products are subject to this recall:

  • Father’s Day Giant Novelty Mugs, sold in black with “Super Dad” printed on them
  • Father’s Day Giant Novelty Mugs, sold in blue with “My favourite child gave me this mug” printed on them (pictured above)

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Crockery products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these Crockery products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - The Australian Competition & Consumer CommissionAccording to the ACCC,  Splosh Australia has recalled certain batch/lots of Father’s Day Giant Novelty Mugs from the Australian marketplace due to suspected in-use structural failure. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should not use the recalled Novelty Mugs identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that the Mugs may crack and break when filled with hot liquids.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Father’s Day Giant Novelty Mugs, please do not use them them. Instead, kindly return the Mugs to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat burns, scalds, laceration, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and/or sepsis.
