Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: ALDI Stores (a limited partnership), a Minchinbury, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of ALDI Double USB Powerpoint from the Australian marketplace due to suspected weak contacts in the power point and consequential risks of electric shock, fire, burns, respiratory impairment and cardiac arrest, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Consumer Electrical products are subject to this recall:

  • ALDI Double USB Powerpoints, sold with a model designation of RPOD10U-AA or RPOD10U-AC, a batch/lot of 05/2023 or 07/2023, a product code of 708521, an electrical approval number of SGS-2200882-EA and a SKU of 708521

==> No barcodes, APNs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These ALDI Double USB Powerpoints were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Australian states of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia and Australian Capital Territory, although it is always possible these household electrical products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, ALDI Stores has recalled certain batch/lots of ALDI Double USB Powerpoints from the Australian marketplace due to suspected weak contacts. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should not use the recalled Home Electrical products identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the defect was said to pose the risk of serious injury or death from fire and/or electrocution.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled ALDI Double USB Powerpoints, please do not use them. Instead, either return the product to any ALDI store for a full refund or use a dedicated Web form link to arrange for a free replacement at https://www.cognitoforms.com/GlobalTQM/YPAfterSalesV2.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat electric shock, fire, burns, respiratory impairment and cardiac arrest.
