Among the thirty-five (35) recalls the NHTSA announced in September comes news of the following:

Logo - Winnebago Industries, Inc. ("Winnebago")Winnebago Industries, Inc. (“Winnebago”), a Forest City, Iowa establishment, has recalled an estimated 8,583 model year 2017-2024 Winnebago Travato Motorhomes marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Structure, Equipment – Awning may extend unintentionally

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V627000 reports the Retractable Awning may extend unintentionally during transit.

According to the NHTSA, an Awning that extends during transit may become a distraction or road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 7, 2023.

Owners may contact Winnebago Customer Service at 1-574-585-6939 or toll-free at 1-800-537-1885 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Central Standard Time (“CST”) for more information. Winnebago’s designation for this recall is 176.

Please note: this recall replaces and expands NHTSA Recall 22V-696. Winnebago Motorhomes previously repaired under 22V-696 will need to have the new remedy completed.
