Logo - US Food and Drug Administration ("FDA")According to the FDA, David’s Cookies has recalled at least 960 Marketside Chocolate Chip Explosion Cakes from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and/or mispackaging and consequential undeclared Peanuts. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Baked Goods identified above.

In this case, it was reported that 960 units of baked goods sold at Walmart and marked as “Marketside Chocolate Chip Explosion Cake” actually contain another of the company’s products, specifically “Marketside Ultimate Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake”, a product that contains Peanut. As a result of this reported defect, the Cakes do not depict Peanut as a key ingredient and do not declare an Peanut allergen warning on the label.

==> For information about Nut Allergy (including Peanuts and Tree Nuts), please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab at the top of this page.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Marketside Chocolate Chip Explosion Cakes sold at Walmart and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
