Among the twenty-four (24) recalls the NHTSA announced in September comes news of the following:

Logo - Subaru of America, Inc. ("Subaru")Subaru of America, Inc. (“Subaru”), a Camden, New Jersey establishment and a subsidiary of Subaru Corporation of Japan, has recalled an estimated 8,915 model year 2022 Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 Sports Coupes marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Exterior Lighting – Inoperative Rear Turn Signals

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V609000 reports the Rear Turn Signals may intermittently become inoperative.

According to the NHTSA, inoperative Rear Turn Signals may not notify other drivers of a turning vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Subaru and Toyota Dealers will replace both Rear Combination Lamp Assemblies, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed October 29, 2023. Second letters will be sent once the remedy is available.

Subaru owners may contact Subaru’s Customer Service toll-free at 1-844-373-6614 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information.

Logo - Toyota Motor Engineering & ManufacturingToyota owners may contact Toyota Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-331-4331 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Central Standard Time (“CST”) . Subaru’s designation for this recall for both platforms is WRM-23.
