US/Silver Spring: Life Raft Treats, a Charleston, South Carolina establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Not Fried Chicken and Life Is Peachy flavored Ice Cream from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Dairy products are subject to this recall:

• Life Raft Treats branded Life Is Peachy Ice Cream, sold in 6-count containers; affected batch/lots: up to and including those with a best-by date of Aug 8212024
• Life Raft Treats branded Not Fried Chicken Ice Cream, sold in 64-ounce buckets; affected batch/lots: up to and including those with a best-by date of Aug 8212024
• Life Raft Treats branded Not Fried Chicken Ice Cream, sold in 2.5-ounce bars; affected batch/lots: up to and including those with a best-by date of Aug 8212024 and a UPC of 8 60006 18210 6

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Dairy products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all US states as well as the District of Columbia, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Life Raft Treats has recalled certain batch/lots of Not Fried Chicken and Life Is Peachy flavored Ice Cream from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dairy products identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the firm was notified by South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (“SCDHEC”) that its Not Fried Chicken Ice Cream products tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. The firm also decided to recall its Life Is Peachy Ice Cream treats because both products were manufactured in the same room.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Not Fried Chicken and Life Is Peachy flavored Ice Cream, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Dairy products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
