Among the ninety-two (92) recalls the NHTSA announced in August came news of the following:

Logo - Ford Motor Company ("Ford")Ford Motor Company (“Ford”), a Dearborn, Michigan establishment, has recalled an estimated 8,523 model year 2023 Ford Edge Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Exterior Lighting – Front Right Headlight is too bright in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 108

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V596000 reports the Front Right Headlight may be too bright or aimed incorrectly. As such, these Ford vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment”.

According to the NHTSA, a Headlight that is too bright or aimed incorrectly may cause a glare to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Ford Dealers will inspect and replace the Right Headlight Assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 9, 2023. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service toll-free at 1-866-436-7332 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information. Ford’s designation for this recall is 23C26.
