Product Recall: Comsol USB-C Magnetic Wireless Power Banks

Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Comsol Pty Ltd., a Glendenning, North South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of USB-C Magnetic Wireless Power Banks designed to charge selected Apple iPhones from the Australian marketplace due to suspected short circuit and/or overheating and consequential risks of burns, fires, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Electronics Accessories are subject to this recall:

  • USB-C Magnetic Wireless Power Banks, sold as magnetic power banks used to wirelessly charge iPhone 12/13/14 models with a Comsol part designation of WMPB10A and an Officeworks part designation of COWMPB10A

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Electronics Accessories were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these electronics products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, Comsol has recalled certain batch/lots of USB-C Magnetic Wireless Power Banks from the Australian marketplace due to suspected short circuit and overheating. As a direct result of these suspected defects, you should use the recalled Wireless Power Banks identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that the Power Banks may short circuit, overheat and catch fire.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Comsol USB-C Magnetic Wireless Power Banks, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly burns, fires, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse.
