Vehicle Recall: Chrysler Jeep Compass SUVs

Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety safety authority, recalls certain 2022 and 2023 Jeep Compass SUVs marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On certain vehicles, a software problem in the Body Control Module (“BCM”) could cause the Backlight for the Instrument Cluster Display not to work correctly. If this defect occurs, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle’s in-use operation and/or performance, including the gauges, messages and tell-tale graphics.

An Instrument Cluster Display that isn’t visible could increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage, internal injuries burns, scalds, explosive blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury.

==> No VINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Proposed Remedy:
FCA Canada will notify Jeep Compass SUVs owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership to reprogram the Instrument Cluster Software.
