Among the seventy-nine (79) recalls the NHTSA has announced in August comes news of the following:

Logo - Hino Motors Manufacturing USA, Inc. ("Hino")Hino Motors Manufacturing USA, Inc. (“Hino”), the commercial truck division of Toyota Motors Corp. and a Novi, Michigan establishment, has recalled an estimated 8,025 model year 2020-2024 NE7A, NE7B, NE8A, NH9A, NJ7A, NJ7B, NJ8A, NJ8J, NV7A, NV7B and NV8A Commercial Trucks equipped with 70 or 90 gallon Fuel Tanks marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Electrical System – Inaccurate Fuel Gauge reading

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V560000 reports the Fuel Sender Float may deform and detach, which can lead to an inaccurate Fuel Gauge reading.

According to the NHTSA, an inaccurate Fuel Gauge may result in the vehicle unexpectedly running out of fuel and stalling, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Hino Dealers will replace the Fuel Sender Gauge, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 6, 2023. Owners may contact Hino Customer Service at +1-248-699-9390 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information. Hino’s designation for this recall is AAV70.
