US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Twin City Foods, Inc., a Stanwood, Washington establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Food Lion, Kroger and Signature branded Not-Ready-To Eat Individually Quick Frozen (“IQF”) Super Sweet Cut Corn and Mixed Vegetables from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following individual quick frozen (“IQF”) Vegetables are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Food Lion, Kroger and Signature branded Frozen Cut Corn and Mixed Vegetables may have been marketed, distributed and sold in all US states, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - US Food and Drug Administration ("FDA")According to the FDA, Twin City Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Food Lion, Kroger and Signature branded Not-Ready-To Eat Individually Quick Frozen (“IQF”) Super Sweet Cut Corn and Mixed Vegetables from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Frozen Vegetables identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was suspected that the Frozen Vegetables may be contaminated with the Listeria monocytogenes after one (1) customer’s third party lab results for the IQF Sweet Cut Corn.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Food Lion, Kroger and Signature branded Frozen Cut Corn and Mixed Vegetables, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Frozen Vegetables to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
