US FlagUS/Washington: Bellboy Import Corporation, the Importer of Record and a Saint Charles, Minnesota establishment, recalls an estimated 551 pounds of Aurora branded Frozen Pork Belly, Sheet Ribbed, Skin-On Pork products due to reported failure to present for import re-inspection into the United States and consequential risks of bacterial and/or viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Pork Belly products are subject to this recall:

  • Aurora branded Frozen Pork Belly, Sheet Ribbed, Skin-On, sold in 25 kilogram (~55.12-pound) cardboard cases of vacuum-packed packages with a production date ranging from 19/06/2023 (i.e., June 19, 2023) to 26/06/2023 (i.e., June 26, 2023) and shipping mark of 308161.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail/wholesale presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Pork Belly products can be found on the Web site above.

These Aurora branded Frozen Pork Belly products known to be marketed, distributed and sold to retail and foodservice establishments in the US states of Minnesota, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the importer for specific product information.

The products subject to recall bear Brazilian establishment number “BRASIL INSPECIONADO 3548 S.I.F” inside the Brazilian mark of inspection.

Logo - United States Department of Agriculture ("USDA")According to the USDA, Bellboy Import Corporation has recalled an estimated 551 pounds of Aurora branded Frozen Pork Belly, Sheet Ribbed, Skin-On Pork products due to reported failure to present for import re-inspection into the United States with consequential risks of bacterial and/or viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, and consequential risks of bacterial and/or viral infection.

In this case, this recall was initiated after FSIS was notified by an import broker that Frozen Pork Belly products imported from Brazil were not presented for FSIS import re-inspection.

As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Frozen Pork Belly products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Aurora Frozen Pork Belly, Sheet Ribbed Pork products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial and/or viral poisonings including Botulism, E. Coli Poisoning, Listeriosis (Listeria poisoning) or Salmonellosis (Salmonella poisoning).
