Among the fifty-two (52) recalls the NHTSA has announced in August comes news of the following:

Logo - Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. ("Isuzu"),Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (“Isuzu”), a Plymouth, Michigan establishment and subsidiary of Tokyo, Japan-based Isuzu Motors Ltd., has recalled an estimated 19,479 model year 2023-2024 Isuzu NPR Gas, NPR HD Gas, 2024 NQR Gas, NRR Gas, 2023-2024 Chevrolet LCF 3500HG, Chevrolet LCF 4500HG, 2024 Chevrolet LCF 5500HG and Chevrolet LCF 5500XG Commercial Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Electrical System – Loss of Engine power due to electrical corrosion

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V564000 reports the Chassis Harness may have an incorrectly sized Wire Seal for the two (2) externally Mounted Engine Ignition Coil Pack Fuse Holders. If this defect occurs, it can allow water intrusion and cause the vehicle’s Fuses to corrode.

Logo - General MotorsAccording to the NHTSA, corrosion of the Ignition Coil Pack Fuses can cause a misfire and loss of Engine power, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Isuzu and Chevrolet Dealers will replace both Engine Ignition Coil Pack Fuse Holder Assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 29, 2023. Owners may contact Isuzu Customer Service toll-free at 1-866-441-9638 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information. Isuzu’s designation for this recall is V2305.
