Vehicle Recall: Elstar Motorcycle & Quads Ag Boss Bikes

Australia/Canberra: Elstar Motorcycle and Quads Pty Ltd., a Milperra, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Ag Boss 250cc General Use Quad Bike Vehicles from the Australian marketplace due to reported failure to meet the mandatory standard for Quad Bikes and General Use Quad Bikes and failure of the operator protection device (“OPD”) for rollover protection with consequential risks of tip-over, falls, laceration, concussion, bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Quad Bike Vehicles are subject to this recall:

• Elstar Motorcycle and Quads 250cc General Use Quad Bikes, fitted with a 250cc Water Cooled 4 Stroke Engine, with four (4) speed FORWARD gears and one (1) REVERSE gears, a front independent suspension, a rear differential axles, front and rear brake for off road use only.

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Ag Boss Quad Bike Vehicles were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these Quad Bike Vehicles had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Elstar Motorcycle and Quads Pty Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Ag Boss 250cc General Use Quad Bike Vehicles from the Australian marketplace due to reported failure to meet the mandatory standard for Quad Bikes and General Use Quad Bikes and failure of the operator protection device (“OPD”) for rollover protection. As a direct result of this suspected defect and associated risks, you should not use the recalled Ag Boss Quad Bike Vehicles identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Elstar Motorcycle and Quads 250cc General Use Quad Bikes, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Elstar to make arrangements for the ATV Lifeguard to be fitted on the recalled Quad Bikes as soon as possible.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat tip-over, falls, laceration, concussion, bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury.
