Among the sixty-nine (69) recalls the NHTSA announced in July came news of the following:

Logo - Mercedes-Benz USAMercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (“MBUSA”), a Sandy Springs, Georgia establishment and subsidiary of Daimler AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 8,178 model year 2022-2023 Mercedes-Benz C300 and 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 Sedans marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Electrical System – Loss of drive power

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V462000 reports the Transmission Wiring Harness may be the incorrect length, which can result in Harness damage and a loss of drive power.

According to the NHTSA, a loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Mercedes-Benz and AMG Dealers will inspect and repair the Transmission Wiring Harness routing, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 29, 2023. Owners may contact Mercedes-Benz Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-367-6373 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information. No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
