Product Recall: H-E-B’s Haven & Key Leather Woven Chairs

US/Washington: H-E-B Grocery Company LP, a San Antonio, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 1,400 Haven & Key Leather Woven Chairs from the American marketplace due to suspected structural failure and collapse with consequential risks of falls, laceration, traumatic brain injury (“TBI” or “concussion”), bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves some H-E-B’s Haven & Key Leather Woven Chairs, also known as “Lovina Chairs” marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

• H-E-B’s Haven & Key Leather Woven Chairs, sold in black with a UPC of 4122089244 (black) and in brown with a UPC of 4122091920.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Chairs can be found on the Web site listed above.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Backrest and Legs of the recalled Chairs can crack and break off when a consumer is seated in the Chair. If this defect occurs, it poses risks of falls, laceration, traumatic brain injury (“TBI” or “concussion”), bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury to people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the firm has received eleven (11) reports of the Chairs cracking or breaking. As of press time, no injuries had been reported.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled H-E-B’s Haven & Key Leather Woven Chairs, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. H-E-B is contacting all known (i.e., registered) purchasers directly.
