Canada/Ottawa: Lemond Food Corp., a Vaughan, Ontario establishment and Seoul Trading Corp., a Port Coquitlam, British Columbia establishment, recall certain batch/lots of Frozen Menbosha Shrimp Flavoured Sandwiches from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious health and safety hazard requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Shrimp products are subject to this recall:

  • Korean character branded Frozen Menbosha Shrimp Flavoured Sandwiches, sold in 600 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all codes where Egg is not declared on the label

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Frozen Menbosha Shrimp Flavoured Sandwiches were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the distributors for specific product information.

Logo - Canadian Food Inspection Agency ("CFIA")According to the CFIA, Lemond Food Corp. and Seoul Trading Corp. have recalled certain batch/lots of Frozen Menbosha Shrimp Flavoured Sandwiches from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Sandwiches identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Korean character branded Frozen Menbosha Shrimp – Shrimp Flavoured Sandwiches, and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
