US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Rich Products, a Buffalo, New York establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Sam’s Club Member’s Mark branded Breaded Mozzarella Sticks from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of undeclared Egg and Soy, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Cheese Sticks are subject to this recall:

  • Sam’s Club Member’s Mark Breaded Mozzarella Sticks, sold in five (5)-pound cardboard boxes containing seventy-two (72) breaded sticks packaged in two (2) resealable bags with a best-if-used-by (“BIUB”) date of 12/28/2024 (i.e., December 28, 2023) and a UPC of 078742226880.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Sam’s Club Member’s Mark Breaded Mozzarella Sticks were known to be marketed, distributed and sold from Walmart’s Sam’s Club retail stores in the US states of Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - US Food and Drug Administration ("FDA")According to the FDA, Rich Products has recalled certain batch/lots of Member’s Mark branded Breaded Mozzarella Sticks from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of undeclared Egg and Soy. As a result of these reported defects, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cheese Sticks identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after Rich’s discovered that an incorrect raw material was used during the manufacturing process that introduced Egg and Soy to the finished product. Egg and Soy do not appear in the ingredient listing on the package posing risks of Anaphylaxis.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Sam’s Club Member’s Mark branded Breaded Mozzarella Sticks and could be allergic to their Egg and/or Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
