Vehicle Recall: Ford Lincoln MKC SUVs

Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety safety authority, recalls certain MY2015 to MY2019 Ford Lincoln MKC Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in Canada due to possible Battery Monitor Sensor damage made during servicing. In this defect occurs, it could cause the Battery Monitor System to short circuit.

As a result, a short-circuit can increase the risk of a fire, explosion, burns and/or smoke inhalation with consequential life-changing or life-ending results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, scalds, explosive blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury.

==> No VINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Proposed Remedy:
Ford Canada will notify owners of the recalled MY2015 to MY2019 Ford Lincoln MKC Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to an Authorized Dealer to install an In-line Fuse for the Battery Monitor Sensor.

==> Owner/operators of the recalled Ford Lincoln MKC SUVs are advised to park outside and away from structures, including garages, carports, sheds and car barns, until the recall repair is successfully completed and certified by the Authorized Dealer.
