US FlagUS/Washington: Innovative Technology Electronics LLC, doing business as Victrola, a Denver, Colorado establishment, recalls an estimated Wood Metropolitan Bluetooth Record Players with 3-Speed Turntables from the American marketplace due to suspected overheating and consequential risks of burns, fire, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Bluetooth Record Players marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

  • Victrola Wood Metropolitan Bluetooth Record Players with 3-Speed Turntables, sold with a model number VTA-240B-ESP. Each of the recalled Entertainment Centers measures approximately 6.5 inches high by 14.5 inches wide by 15.5 inches deep and weighs approximately 12 pounds. The Record Players have three (3) black Control Knobs with brass accents on the Front Panel with the brand, Victrola printed in gold lettering on the inside of Top Cover. The units were sold in “Espresso” color (i.e., dark brown) and are thought to have been manufactured in September 2021. A white label on the back of the Record Player lists a model designation of VTA-240B while another white label states a production date of 09/2021.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Logo - US Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC")According to the CPSC, the recalled Record Players can overheat during operation. If this defect occurs, it poses risks of burns, fire, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse to people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the firm has received six (6) reports of the Wood Metropolitan Bluetooth Record Players overheating and/or catching fire, including one (1) minor injury and one (1) report of minor property damage.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Wood Metropolitan Bluetooth Record Players with 3-Speed Turntables, please do not use them. Instead, kindly immediately unplug and stop using the recalled Record Players and contact Victrola to receive a free replacement. Owners should keep the recalled Record Players until successfully registering for the recall, at which time the firm will provide you with appropriate disposal instructions.
