Food Recall: Bento Mixed Seafood Snacks

Canada/Ottawa: Thai United Food Trading Ltd., a Burnaby, British Columbia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Bento branded Mixed Seafood Snacks – Larb Flavour from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious health and safety hazard requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Mixed Seafood Snack products are subject to this recall:

• Bento branded Mixed Seafood Snacks – Larb Flavour, sold in 20 gram packages with an expiry date of 30062024 and a UPC of 8 850157 405874

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Bento branded Mixed Seafood Snacks – Larb Flavour products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of British Columbia, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Thai United Food Trading has recalled certain batch/lots of Bento branded Mixed Seafood Snacks – Larb Flavour from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Mixed Seafood Snacks identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Bento branded Mixed Seafood Snacks and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
