Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Yamaha Motor Australia Pty. Ltd., a Wetherill Park, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain Yamaha DR2A Fleet, PTV and SVC Golf Cars from the Australian marketplace due to failure to comply with the Australian Electromagnetic Compatibility (“EMC”) standards and consequential risks of electromagnetic interference with sensitive electrical equipment and/or impact on other nearby electronic devices including nearby medical devices due to radio frequency emitted from a non-compliant component, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent possible life-altering injury or death.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Golf Cars are subject to this recall:

  • Yamaha DR2A Fleet, PTV and SVC Golf Cars, sold with a serial number within the list available on the worksheet from the Web site specified above

==> No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Yamaha DR2A Fleet, PTV and SVC Golf Cars were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these vehicles had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, Yamaha Motor Australia has recalled certain Yamaha DR2A Fleet, PTV and SVC Golf Cars from the Australian marketplace due to failure to comply with Australia’s Electromagnetic Compatibility (“EMC”) standards. As a result of these reported defects and associated risks, you should not use the recalled vehicle products identified above until they are repaired.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Yamaha DR2A Fleet, PTV and/or SVC Golf Cars, please do not use them. Instead, contact your local authorized Yamaha dealer for an appointment to have the Golf Car inspected. If necessary, the part or parts will be replaced free of charge.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat medical device impairment and/or failure.
