US FlagUS/Washington: Michael Giordano International Inc., a Miami, Florida establishment, recalls an estimated 26,400 Boost The Mood Ceramic Mugs from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of burns, scalds, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure, cardiac system collapse and/or property damage, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain 10-ounce Ceramic Mugs in navy blue with a gold metallic handle and “Boost The Mood” in gold lettering, as follows:

  • Boost The Mood branded Ceramic Mugs, sold in navy blue with a gold metallic handle and a white, round label on the bottom of the mug that describes it as being “microwave safe”. The recalled Mugs were sold as part of a Promotional Set including Socks, Hand Cream and Foot Cream.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Mugs can be found on the Web site listed above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Logo - US Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC")According to the CPSC, the Ceramic Mugs are mislabeled as microwave safe. If microwaved, the metallic print on the Mug can spark, posing a fire hazard to people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the firm has received one (1) report of a Mug smoking while being heated in a microwave oven.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Boost The Mood Ceramic Mugs, please do not use them. Instead, kindly Michael Giordano International to receive a $10 cash refund for the value of the Ceramic Mug. You will be directed to dispose of their Mugs after successfully registering for the recall.
