US/Silver Spring: Mondelēz Global LLC, an East Hanover, New Jersey establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of belVita Breakfast Sandwich products from the American marketplace due to suspected cross-contact contamination during production and consequential undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Snack Foods are subject to this recall:

• belVita Breakfast Sandwiches – Cinnamon Brown Sugar with Vanilla Creme variety, sold in 8.8-ounce cartons; affected batch/lots: all best-if-used-by dates prior to and including February 25, 2024 and a UPC of 0 44000 06304 7
• belVita Breakfast Sandwiches – Cinnamon Brown Sugar with Vanilla Creme variety, sold in 1.76-ounce pouches; affected batch/lots: all best-if-used-by dates prior to and including February 25, 2024 and a UPC of 0 44000 06370 2
• belVita Breakfast Sandwiches – Dark Chocolate Creme variety, sold in 8.8-ounce cartons; affected batch/lots: all best-if-used-by dates prior to and including February 25, 2024 and a UPC of 0 44000 04328 5
• belVita Breakfast Sandwiches – Dark Chocolate Creme variety, sold in 14.08-ounce cartons; affected batch/lots: all best-if-used-by dates prior to and including February 25, 2024 and a UPC of 0 44000 05723 7
• belVita Breakfast Sandwiches – Dark Chocolate Creme variety, sold in 1-pound 5.12-ounce cartons; affected batch/lots: all best-if-used-by dates prior to and including February 25, 2024 and a UPC of 0 44000 05861 6

• belVita Breakfast Sandwiches – Dark Chocolate Creme variety, sold in 2-pound 12-ounce cartons; affected batch/lots: all best-if-used-by dates prior to and including February 25, 2024 and a UPC of 0 44000 04602 6
• belVita Breakfast Sandwiches – Dark Chocolate Creme variety, sold in 1.76-ounce pouches; affected batch/lots: all best-if-used-by dates prior to and including February 25, 2024 and a UPC of 0 44000 04070 3

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These belVita Breakfast Sandwiches were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all US states, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Mondelēz Global has recalled certain batch/lots of belVita Breakfast Sandwich products from the American marketplace due to possible cross-contact contamination during production and consequential undeclared Peanuts. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Snack Foods identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after an internal manufacturing inspection found the potential presence of Peanut Protein residue on the production line used to make these recalled belVita Breakfast Sandwiches.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Mondelēz belVita Breakfast Sandwiches and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
