Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Andrew Peller Limited, a Grimsby, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Peller Family Vineyards branded Pinot Grigio Wine products from the Canadian marketplace due to reported bloating and presence of sediment contamination with consequential risks of bacterial infection, illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Pinot Grigio Wine products are subject to this recall:

  • Peller Family Vineyards branded Pinot Grigio Wine, sold in 4 L containers; affected batch/lots: all lots starting with “3115” with a UPC of 048162010406
  • Peller Family Vineyards branded Pinot Grigio Wine, sold in four (4) by 4 L containers; affected batch/lots: all lots starting with “2311502GR”s

Please consult the photograph above for details of the alcoholic beverage’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Pinot Grigio Wine products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of Ontario, although it is always possible these alcohol beverage products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled alcoholic beverage products identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Peller Family Vineyards branded Pinot Grigio Wine products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Botulism, E. Coli Poisoning, Listeriosis (Listeria poisoning) and/or Salmonellosis (Salmonella poisoning).
