Additional information:
Among the thirty-one (31) recalls the NHTSA announced in May comes news of the following:

Logo - Kia Motors America ("Kia")Kia Motors America (“Kia”), an Irvine, California establishment and a subsidiary of Kia Motors Corporation of Seoul, South Korea, has recalled an estimated 108,936 model year 2023 Kia Sportage, Kia Sportage Hybrid, Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid, Kia Niro Hybrid, Niro Plug-in Hybrid, Kia Soul, and Kia Telluride Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States equipped with a digital instrument cluster containing a 4.2″ LCD screen.

Recall Category: Electrical System – Blank LCD Display in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 101 & 138

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V298000 reports the Instrument Cluster may fail to display any information when the vehicle is started. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, “Control and Displays,” and 138, “Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems”.

According to the NHTSA, a blank Instrument Cluster Display will not show critical information, such as Tire pressure, warning messages, and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.
