Canada/Ottawa: Logo - Unicer Foods Ltd.Unicer Foods Ltd., a Toronto, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Dom Duarte branded Emagrecimento Tea from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected presence of non-permitted food ingredients and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Tea products are subject to this recall:

  • Dom Duarte branded Emagrecimento Tea, sold in 30 gram packages with a batch/lot designation of 943 and a UPC of 5 608771 030810

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Unicer Foods Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Dom Duarte branded Emagrecimento Tea from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected non-permitted food ingredient contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Tea products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dom Duarte branded Emagrecimento Tea, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and/or bowel obstruction.
